یہ کج ادائی یہ غمزہ ترا کبھی پھر یار!
کہ تیرا شہر نیا اور میں مسافر یار!
تو اور کچھ نہ سہی، دوست تو ہے آخر یار!
دکھی رہا ہے بہت آج تیرا شاعر یار!
کہاں کا لمس، کہاں کی ہوس، کہاں کا وصال
تڑپ رہا ہوں تری ہمدمی کی خاطر یار!
سنبھل بھی جاتا تھا دل تیرے ہجر میں، یعنی
رہا ہوں میں بھی تری آرزو کا منکر یار!
پکارتی ہیں مجھے گھنٹیاں تری ایسے
کہ جیسا تیرا مدینہ ہو کوئی مندر یار!
