dekha to tha yunhi kisi ghaflat-shiar ne
dekhā to thā yūñhī kisī ġhaflat-shi.ār ne
dīvāna kar diyā dil-e-be-iḳhtiyār ne
ai aarzū ke dhundle ḳharābo javāb do
phir kis kī yaad aa.ī thī mujh ko pukārne
tujh ko ḳhabar nahīñ magar ik sāda-lauh ko
barbād kar diyā tire do din ke pyaar ne
maiñ aur tum se tark-e-mohabbat kī aarzū
dīvāna kar diyā hai ġham-e-rozgār ne
ab ai dil-e-tabāh tirā kyā ḳhayāl hai
ham to chale the kākul-e-gītī sañvārne
