ghar ka rasta bhi mila tha shayad
ghar kā rasta bhī milā thā shāyad
raah meñ sañg-e-vafā thā shāyad
is qadar tez havā ke jhoñke
shāḳh par phuul khilā thā shāyad
jis kī bātoñ ke fasāne likkhe
us ne to kuchh na kahā thā shāyad
log be-mehr na hote hoñge
vahm sā dil ko huā thā shāyad
tujh ko bhūle to duā tak bhūle
aur vahī vaqt-e-duā thā shāyad
ḳhūn-e-dil meñ to Duboyā thā qalam
aur phir kuchh na likhā thā shāyad
dil kā jo rañg hai ye rañg 'adā'
pahle āñkhoñ meñ rachā thā shāyad

is qadar tez hawa ke jhonke

jis ki baaton ke fasane likkhe
us ne to kuchh na kaha tha shayad

tujh ko bhule to dua tak bhule
aur wahi waqt-e-dua tha shayad
KHun-e-dil mein to Duboya tha qalam
aur phir kuchh na likha tha shayad
dil ka jo rang hai ye rang 'ada'
pahle aankhon mein racha tha shayad
