ik aise vaqt meñ sab peḌ maiñ ne naql kiye

jahāñ pe maiñ inheñ shādāb dekh saktā thā

ziyāda der usī naav meñ Thaharne se

maiñ apne-āp ko ġharqāb dekh saktā thā

koī bhī dil meñ zarā jam ke ḳhaak uḌātā to

mere qarib hi mahtab dekh sakta tha

gae dinon mein ye talab dekh sakta tha

ek aise waqt mein sab peD main ne naql kiye

jahan pe main inhen shadab dekh sakta tha

ziyaada der usi naw mein Thaharne se

main apne-ap ko gharqab dekh sakta tha

koi bhi dil mein zara jam ke KHak uData to

    hazar gauhar-e-nayab dekh sakta tha

kahaniyon ne meri aadaten bigaD di thin

main sirf sach ko zafar-yab dekh sakta tha
