udaas chāñd sitāro koī to baat karo
kahāñ hai Duub chukā ab to Dūbne vaalā
shikasta-dil se kināro koī to baat karo
mire nasīb ko barbādiyoñ se nisbat hai
luTī huī sī bahāro koī to baat karo
kahāñ gayā vo tumhārā bulandiyoñ kā junūn
bujhe bujhe se sharāro koī to baat karo
isī tarah se ajab kyā jo kuchh sukūn mile
ġham-e-firāq ke maaro koī to baat karo
tumhārā ġham bhī miTātī haiñ mastiyāñ ki nahīñ
sharāb-e-nāb ke maaro koī to baat karo
tumhārī ḳhaak uḌātā nahīñ 'shakeb' to kyā
udaas rāh-guzāro koī to baat karo
