log ham se ḳhafā ḳhafā se rahe
in charāġhoñ meñ tel hī kam thā
kyuuñ gila ham ko phir havā se rahe
bahs shatranj sher mausīqī
tum nahīñ the to ye dilāse rahe
zindagī kī sharāb māñgte ho
ham ko dekho ki pī ke pyāse rahe
us ke bandoñ ko dekh kar kahiye
ham ko ummīd kyā ḳhudā se rahe
