badan par nai fasl aane lagi

mujhe pasand nahin aise karobar mein hun

ek qatra ashk ka chhalka to dariya kar diya

bhul kar bhi na phir milega tu

bismil ke taDapne ki adaon mein nasha tha

jita hai sirf tere liye kaun mar ke dekh

hone ko yun to shahr mein apna makan tha

darwaza band dekh ke mere makan ka

chaaron taraf se maut ne ghera hai zist ko

zamin chhoD kar main kidhar jaunga

ab TuTne hi wala hai tanhai ka hisar

phaile hue hain shahr mein sae niDhaal se

ganThi hai usne dosti ek pesh-imam se

har KHwab kali raat ke sanche mein Dhaal kar

aadhon ki taraf se kabhi paunon ki taraf se

soe hue palang ke sae jaga gaya

saDkon par suraj utra

pani ko patthar kahte hain

haj ka safar hai is mein koi sath bhi to ho

chehre pe chamchamati hui dhup mar gai

pahlu ke aar-par guzarta hua sa ho

ghum raha tha ek shaKHs raat ke Khaarzar mein

phir kisi KHwab ke parde se pukara jaun

wo tum tak kaise aata

na koi rok saka KHwab ke safiron ko

wo barsat ki shab wo pichhla pahar

sans ki aanch zara tez karo

jalne lage KHala mein hawaon ke naqsh-e-pa

ye phailti shikastagi ehsas ki taraf

jo chiz thi kamre mein wo be-rabt paDi thi

hua KHatm dariya to sahra laga

hath mein aaftab pighla kar

kaun tha wo KHwab ke malbus mein lipTa hua

iblagh ke badan mein tajassus ka silsila

dur ufuq ke par se aawaz ke parwardigar

wusat-e-daman-e-sahra dekhun

wo ghar chhoD kar ja raha hai suno
