tanhai mili mujhko zarurat se ziyaada

jab kabhi shor-e-jahan hota hai

qarib aate hue aur dur jate hue

main apni bebasi mahsus kar ke ro raha hunga

patthar se mukalima hai jari

jaane kaise log the yaad aae kam jaane ke baad

har lamha dil-doz KHamoshi chiKH rahi hai

badan pe KHarqa-e-tahzib phaTne wala hai

maine apni maut pe ek nauha likkha hai

zindagi tere liye KHak bahut chhani hai

masjud mera rah-numa kyun nahin hua

ghubar kis ka hai istiara ye gard kis waste uDi hai

har nafas ek nai zanjir mujhe milti hai

jo meri aah se nikla dhuan hai meri miTTi ka

dauDta rahta hun na-malum samton ki taraf

pahle ki ba-nisbat hai mujhe kaam ziyaada
